MEDICINAL PLANTS

FLOWERING

The corolla is divided into 4 or 5 petals and the cup has the same form but with more pointed segments. Smell is very pleasant. APPLICATIONS

The most important component is the essence, which varies greatly by the rate at which the plant produces. It normally contains 1.5% essential and 65% of phenols. It contains very little thymol and carvacrol enough. The essence gives the heady thyme appetite stimulant, antiseptic, toning and antifungal. Phenolic acids enhance the antiseptic action. It has been used against whooping cough, chronic inflammation of the bronchi, asthma, digestive disorders and diarrhea.
