MEDICINAL PLANTS

This plant can reach up to 10 cm tall. It consists of a tuber roots that leave many may reach 15 to 20 cm long. Usually you can find under it the previous year's tuber roots with much thinner. The stem tuber is also born, and from this come the leaves which are oval-shaped, fleshy and smooth edges. Can be found in the north of the peninsula, usually at altitudes above 2,000 m, in the Andes mountains and coast and especially in the Pyrenees. It breeds on rocky hillsides, in areas where no arable land and irrigation.

FLOWERING

The flowers are grown in the top of the stem and are composed of five white petals and many stamens. The grass gra evil starts flowering in early June, but according to the area that can bloom is later. The fruits of this plant are quite small, oval shaped and are all clustered together. The whole plant is harvested for later use. Usually used dried, so it is advisable to store it in dark place so it can dry completely.

APPLICATIONS

Its composition is unknown, it is hardly used in medicine and so far not been investigated components. It is a plant that is used as a home remedy, especially among pastors in the area of the Pyrenees, formerly used it to combat what they called "evil gra", ie difficult to treat tumors or traditional medicine considered incurable . We refer to cancerous tumors. Like other species of the Ranunculaceae family, the evil weed is a plant gra caustic and vesicant, ie that the contact of this plant with your hands or other body part can cause blisters and skin burns, so it is convenient catch it with gloves. Anyway, bad gra grass is not used in any area beyond the Pyrenees, although also found in the Alps or in nearby mountainous areas.

ADMINISTRATION

Poultice. Whilst the ground crumbles and then crushed to form a poultice. It is applied to the affected area to heal tumors. This plant is used externally provided to avoid possible complications. Caution is needed with it, since it is quite unknown and has never been used in traditional medicine.
