MEDICINAL PLANTS

The tooth is named after it has an underground stem with buds on some form of teeth. The rhizome is white and is very close to the surface. The aerial branches are covered with very large leaves and divided into segments that are separated, each of them seems a separate sheet. Its shape is lanceolate and the edges are jagged. The tooth can be found in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, particularly in the Pyrenees and nearby mountains. One grows in forests, especially beech, which are in mountainous areas.

FLOWERING

It begins to bloom in April and may last more or less, depending on the area where you are. The flowers are white and appear in small numbers. Both the corolla and the calyx is divided into four parts. The fruit is shaped when mature pods and separate into two parts. The party collected is the rhizome. The harvest season occurs from June, when the rest of the plant is already cured.

APPLICATIONS

It consists of tanning materials that give a distinctive smell pretty nasty. It is a plant that has been little used in Spain and elsewhere in Europe. Neither as a home remedy or medicine is very popular for their properties. Ever used as vulneraria and as an astringent.

ADMINISTRATION

cooking. Rhizome should be used freshly picked, otherwise it loses its properties. They are boiled in a liter of water 30 gr. Of the plant are poured the remains of the tooth and add sugar if the taste is not very pleasant. It takes a cup to get up and another at bedtime.
Juice. Juice is extracted from the rhizome. The grass must be fresh and the amount may vary according to what you're going to use, and that can be taken alone or mixed with other plants.
